About

Hi there and welcome to the technical / development portion of my site.

I’ve had a passion for computers, programming, and all things technical all my life. Before the age of 10, I was building REXX scripts in MS DOS to make the interface more accessible for starting my favourite applications and games. In my early teens, I spent a lot of time writing basic HTML websites during the dot-com boom, and building computers for family and friends. By my late teens, I was taking two A2-Level courses in Computer Science and IT, and spent a lot of my spare time modding games and building small business intelligence applications for local businesses. In University, I did more of the same at Manchester University while studying Computation/Informatics, building a genetic algorithm for my final dissertation.

Professionally, I’ve worked for many years as a Software Developer and a Technical Consultant, working with a broad variety of programming languages and applications, with my primary experience coming from the retail technology sector (space planning optimisation, supply chain optimisation, and order forecasting).

I’ve built this site to share some problems I’ve found interesting along with their solutions, and some articles I’ve written in my free time. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to get in touch with me using one of the icons on the right.

Thanks and kind regards,
Thom
